[Bug 64363] Re: Package new debian release

2006-12-25 Thread Emilio Scalise
0.2 package is slighty modified in respect of the debian package..
Mainly is usplash support the thing that is missing.

Perhaps upstream they have released version 0.5, so it's worthless to implement
usplash support on a 0.3 (and not official) version.
Debian hasn't packaged it yet, perhaps because they are on freeze for the
release of edgy.

Have you planned to package it?
If so I'm happy to help you, testing it and porting the usplash support, if you
want..

Bye

What exactly is missing in the current package from feisty?
Have you patches for the missing features?

I've seen it, but it's only the debian package, repacked for ubuntu. It has not
usplash support and other ubuntu specific additions.
I've repacked the debian package in this way when I posted this bug..

[Bug 64363] Re: Package new debian release

2006-10-09 Thread Michael Bienia
I've had a closer look at this package.
Usually we take the Debian source package as is (+ Ubuntu specific changes if
needed). Unfortunately this package is packaged differently in Ubuntu and
Debian. Which means a thorough look is needed for Ubuntu specific changes.

It is very unlikely that this package will make it into edgy. Sorry.

[Bug 64363] Re: Package new debian release

2006-10-09 Thread Emilio Scalise
I think that should be included are:
- encryption support
- bugfixes, according to debian changelog they are many
(http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/u/uswsusp/uswsusp_0.3~cvs20060928-1/changelog).

It's a lot of work adapting it to ubuntu? How significant are the differencies?
How I can contribute?

As no new upstream versions are allowed in current state of development
an exception is needed which is only granted for good reasons.

Can you name good reasons why this package should be included in edgy?
Thanks.
