Hi, For me answer is: sudo gedit /etc/X11/Xsession.d/80appmenu comment out: export UBUNTU_MENUPROXY="libappmenu.so" The answer came after 4 day of searching some ways ! Apparmor, policykit, files permissions, and path ! I compared path of my machine with one of a freshup maverick in a virtualbox guest and find this variable astonishing. Please provide a screenshot; I cannot reproduce it locally. Also, if you've localized your system, try starting Boinc Manager using "LANG=C boincmgr" from a shell/console. This will use no translations (which might cause problems here).
