I am the maintainer for the debian package. In the package control file I switched from Recomends: to Suggests: (polyglot, xboard | scid), this will be more convenient for all those users, that do install all recommended packages. I just checked, and doing a grep -R fruit . on the source package for stockfish returns nothing!
