Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dolphin
After upgrading to Kubuntu 10.10 beta, Dolphin can't paste files to remote smb folders (Windows shares). Using Konqueror 4.5.1, I can paste the same files into the same remote smb folder with no problem whatsoever. Moreover, up to Kubuntu 10.04, Dolphin worked like a charm and copied any file gracefully (into the same shared folder). No settings were changed in our file server recently. Here's my workflow where the problem occurs: 1. Have a Windows PC called 'syros' to serve some folder, i.e. Data 2. Open Dolphin, press Ctrl+L, enter smb://username:passw...@syros/DATA 3. Files are displayed. 4. Copy a local file (i.e. filename.xls) and paste it into the the remote folder. 5. Dolphin creates a pseudofile but displays a message like this: "Could not write to file smb://dkalama...@syros/DATA/filename.xls" The strange thing is that I can still create remote files from Dolphin (right click while viewing the remote folder > Create New > Text file) and save any of them. Any ideas? ** Affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Dolphin 1.5 can't paste files to remote smb folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655554 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to dolphin in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
