Stephen McClain told me to do it... what he is reporting is the same bug as mine... there you will find more information, my configuration and log files and a way to partialy fix it. The problem aparently is not with the configuration, but something about the booting up of the system. I really don't think this is actually a theme issue, i've got everything installed that you mention. that one has "GraphicalTheme=Human" too. Do you have edgy-gdm-themes installed? The gdm.conf has a "GraphicalTheme=Human" which seems to be correct. Do you have anything to /var/log/syslog about that?
