Any ideas what is causing this bug? Is it only affecting some users? I'd be interested to know what's causing it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662565 Title: Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 662565] Re: Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name.
Yes, I can confirm I'm also experiencing this problem with gnome- terminal: 1. Open gnome-terminal (defaults to home directory). Title is: Terminal 2. cd PublicTitle is now: u...@machinename: ~ 3. cd ../ Title is now: u...@machinename: ~/Public - so it's one step behind. Similar issue with gedit and switching tabs between documents - always one step behind. Switching to another window (Alt+Tab) and then back updates the title. -- Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 662565] Re: Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name.
This is likely to be a window manager or toolkit issue. I've seen this with firefox, gnome-terminal, nautilus, gedit and other applications ** Package changed: firefox (Ubuntu) => compiz (Ubuntu) -- Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Also just to confirm this is with: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101027 Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Firefox/3.6.12 -- Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 662565] Re: Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name.
I've just tried running Firefox with -safe-mode . This bug is still occurring, so it can't be an add-on causing the problem. Should this problem be reported upstream to Mozilla? Unless it's a problem with the window manager/Compiz. However, Nautilus, for example, doesn't seem to have this problem. Also, I'm happy to provide any debug info if required. This problem could be affecting other people who simply haven't noticed - it's quite easy to miss.
This bug is affecting me as well. But not even as a result of rapidly changing tabs/pages. It simply happens, even when switching pages slowly. Find attached a screenshot. As you can see, I've navigated to Google, but it still shows Yahoo! in the window title. I've noticed if I switch to another window, then Firefox seems to update its window title to reflect the current loaded page. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/662565/+attachment/1748110/+files/Screenshot.png -- Firefox title at top of windows sometimes does not show the right webpage name. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
