2008-08-30 Thread Jame
You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you
try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

[Bug 66272] Re: artifacts in display while in virtual terminal

2007-03-27 Thread rafa2000
This has been a problem since edgy. 'mc' works perfectly well in 'gnome-
terminal' and 'xterm' which are the two x-terminals I tried. I use to
have 'mc' inside the 'gnome-multi-terminal' as my work hub even since
before switching to Ubuntu. There seems to be a problem in the way 'mc'
handles the graphic characters to represent the edges. Switching to a
text terminal with 'ctrl-alt-fn' shows the same problem handling the
edges even there. Trying 'mc -a' to use sticks instead does not solve
the problem in any case either. I keep a copy of
'mc_4.6.0-4.6.1-pre4-2-i386.deb' which was the last mc to handle the
graphic edges in all terms. I am unable to solve this, so I would
appreciate any help. Thanks.

I can confirm this on a Thinkpad T20 with Kubuntu and a homebuilt with
Ubuntu. Both Edgy. I'm going to try to downgrade the package on one of
them and see if it helps.

The screen isn't screwy if I add the nvidiafb driver to /etc/modules.
But I really don't think that this module should be loaded like this.
