Public bug reported: My symptoms seem to be caused by what might be a timing issue, I think, (but I could be wrong). They are the following:
This is on a new box with maverick, and I did not get to test it with older versions. The display goes through times where freezes, and does not update until after a few seconds, or until the mouse is moves. It will continue doing this for a short while, and then return to normal, and then after a longer time, come back the whole display, including the cursor freezes for a few seconds sounds pause, and jump around, playing fragments that where already played (and I can't be sure, maybe parts that come after). I had one time where it was only sending sound from an app in short bursts where I was updating the display. scrolling in Firefox is weird, and I had it happen once in Konqueror too, where it will not update when scrolled, but hover able elements, like links would appear over the old display. I once updated a virual box window by activating the window, and moving the cursor across it. It acted like the scan line was attached to the cursor. This happens with the i915 driver with and without modesetting ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: linux-generic 2.6.35.22.23 Regression: No Reproducible: No ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.34-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
