[Bug 665692] Re: wont connect to msn
Well, finally I got a workaround: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pymsn/+bug/255307/comments/16 Hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665692 Title: wont connect to msn -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 665692] Re: wont connect to msn
As far as I can tell, I'm on 10.10 x64 which ships with the Marcelo workaround already there and the problem still occurrs. It was quite random at first, now I'm not able to connect to MSN anymore (but it works properly with Jabber, IRC, Facebook, and so forth). Empathy-debug, after trying to reconnect on MSN show a long listing of lines the last of which is the following: request_connection_cb: RequestConnection failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.KeyError: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/dbus/service.py", line 702, in _message_cb retval = candidate_method(self, *args, **keywords) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/telepathy/server/connmgr.py", line 69, in RequestConnection conn = self._protos[proto](self, parameters) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/butterfly/connection.py", line 115, in __init__ telepathy.server.Connection.__init__(self, 'msn', account, 'butterfly') File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/telepathy/server/conn.py", line 82, in __init__ _Connection.__init__(self, bus_name, object_path) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/dbus/service.py", line 480, in __init__ self.add_to_connection(conn, object_path) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/dbus/service.py", line 571, in add_to_connection self._fallback) KeyError: "Can't register the object-path handler for '/org/freedesktop/Telepathy/Connection/butterfly/msn/smoppy_40gmail_2ecom': there is already a handler" It seems quite clear what the problem is but being unfamiliar on dealing with freedesktop stuff I'm not still able to solve the problem. I'll investigate further.

[Bug 665692] Re: wont connect to msn
Actually, my 10.04 is now working, so the bug is not open, at least as far as I am concerned. -- wont connect to msn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 665692] Re: wont connect to msn
I don't think this is invalid or fixed - I am having this problem with a fully up-to-date 10.04 LTS empathy: Installed: 2.30.2-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.30.2-0ubuntu1 ** Tags added: lucid -- wont connect to msn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 665692] Re: wont connect to msn
For me, empathy is not working yet. I already try to remove telepathy- butterfly and even the kakaroto's solution (which wasnt necessary because was right in that python file). I did all upgrades... Installed other clients and nothing is working yet... On my working pc everything is working! There i use the 32bits version. -- wont connect to msn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 665692] Re: wont connect to msn
Can someone please re-confirm fix and updated package details? MSN was broke, i received an update (now running empathy-2.32.0.1-0ubuntu1) and yes, empathy now connects to MSN, however all my "buddies" are offline even though I can see them online with other clients. I have obviously restarted etc. and still have the problem. -- wont connect to msn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
