Thanks for taking the time to report the bug. With Maverick, I seem to be able to access both sites with no issues, using firefox. In order to see if it's a problem with Ubuntu or FIrefox, please check if you can access these sites with either a different browser (Chrome for example) and/or with a different OS. Also please make sure your firewall does not block access to these sites. I am setting the status of this bug incomplete. Feel free to reopen it if you still experience it and the problem is unique with Firefox on Ubuntu.
