[Bug 673980] Re: Cannot ping any network adress

2010-11-29 Thread Alberto Salvia Novella
Noted other connection problems, perhaps related to this bug. They are:

- pingtest.net cannot be performed; but OpenJDK, which is required, is
installed.

- Certificates form accv.es cannot be upgraded using its java applet.

- Sometimes Gmail folders cannot be upgraded properly by Evolution, even
after reading
"http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=es&ctx=mail&answer=75726";
or using Evolution default configuration.

[Bug 673980] Re: Cannot ping any network adress

2010-11-15 Thread Riccardo
Network tools - PING
The ping tool is not working inside the network tools.
Command line works fine.

I've already check the interface (ethernet) Eth0 and works fine.

[Bug 673980] Re: Cannot ping any network adress

2010-11-11 Thread Alberto Salvia Novella
Yes, it does. So finally this is not related with "Uncomplicated
Firewall" (ufw).

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-nettool

  Using a Ubuntu 10.10, is not possible to ping any network address from
  any network or computer; since in Ubuntu 10.04 it was.

  It was tested with two different computers in two different networks;
  and one of those networks haven't got for sure any firewall or filtering
- rule, and was possible to ping network addresses using web-pages.
+ rule, and was possible to ping network addresses using web-pages or the
+ terminal.

  The bug just appeared after updating to Ubuntu 10.10; and in one
  computer was done using the update manager and in the other with the
  Ubuntu 10.10 compact disk, by formatting the hole computer before in the
  second case.
