Linux 2.6.32-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 17 20:05:27 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux to Linux squeeze 2.6.32-25-server #45-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 20:06:58 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux the system no longer boots. The output on the screen is Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown- block (0,0) The system's root partition is /dev/mapper/ubuntu-root, but the boot process says that doesn't exist.
