Public bug reported: I have installed Edgy RC on my old Sony Vaio PCG-XG19. During startup and shutdown, the screen shows the logos etc, but the colors are all wrong and it looks all pixellated.
The message window is black and impossible to read. I have noticed that the same thing happens whether the boot screen is the ubuntu or kubuntu one. I installed fbset and ran fbset -i, to which it replies /dev/fb0 no such device. xorg.conf reports that the graphics chipset is "NeoMagic Corporation NM2380 [MagicMedia 256XL+]" I don't know how to grab a screenshot during bootup. If there is a need to see the actual screen, I will take an external digital camera and take a photo.
