Public bug reported: In the default Gnome theme that I get during an Ubuntu install, the progress bar is not visible. It appears to be white on white. You can see the number of percent and it is changing, but once you get above 50% it becomes very hard to read.
The progress bar has the same appearance after the install, and the attached screenshot shows synaptic upgrading my system.
