2008-10-09 Thread Ralph Janke
Unfortunately this bug report is being closed because we received no
response to the last inquiry for information. However, the Intrepid
Ibex 8.10 Beta release was most recently announced -
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/beta . If you are able to
confirm this is still an issue with this most recent release please feel
free to reopen this report. To reopen the bug report you can click on
the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back
to New. Thanks.

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2008-08-28 Thread Leann Ogasawara
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-
image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and
test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer
2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4.
Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced.
You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the
bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please
open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the
2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please
specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26
kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2008-07-14 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
The 18 month support period for Edgy Eft 6.10 has reached it's end of
life. As a result, we are closing the linux-source-2.6.17 Edgy Eft
kernel task.

Hardy Heron 8.04 was recently released. It would be helpful if you
could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue -
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . You should be able to test
your bug using the LiveCD. Please let us know your results. Thanks.

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2007-05-15 Thread Jesse Buchanan
I thought I'd mention I'm using feisty, and I don't have an ATI video
adapter in my Thinkpad T60. I'm using the intel i810 driver, and I also
sometimes get the continuously blinking moon. Attempting the cpufreq
fix right now.

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2007-03-23 Thread Benjamin Wohlwend
Albert,

I upgraded to feisty a few weeks ago, so I can't confirm edgy still
suspends with my setup. However, I learned that 'fglrx' is the culprit
in most cases. Since about four months, all new fglrx versions break
suspend-to-ram and there is no workaround as far as I know.

2007-03-23 Thread Albert Cardona
Benjamin,

This related bug has a suggestion: to make the cpu governor be in
performance mode when going to sleep, with a little script.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.17/+bug/70602

So far I got 5 out of 5 consecutive successful sleep cycles, which is a
miracle. I hope it stays that way. I'm on edgy dist-upgraded here, and using
latest edgy fglrx as well.

Benjamin,

Can you confirm if your setup still works with edgy dis-upgraded up to
date?

How can one disable the built-on powermanager?

Thanks for any help!

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2006-10-27 Thread piquadrat
I found a workaround to get my T60 to suspend. There are two steps:

first, install powersaved and kpowersave and use it instead of the built-in
powermanager.
second, install the attached deb for uswsusp. The uswsusp in the repositories
(version 0.2) doesn't work. I built the package with the sources from
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/u/uswsusp/ and with pbuilder (the .deb
provided there depends on libgpg-error0-1.4, edgy has 1.2-1).

With this, my laptop suspends and resumes very reliably.

** Attachment added: .deb packaged by me with pbuilder

I have the exact same problem as piquadrat. I have a T60 with a ATI
x1400 and I have the fglrx drivers installed as well.

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2006-10-25 Thread Matthias Rosenkranz
My specific problem of the laptop not suspending at all seems to be
caused by an incompatible configuration of the hibernate script. I
replaced my own version of /etc/hibernate/common.conf with edgy's
version and now suspend works at least sometimes ... On other times I
experience similar symptoms as described by piquadrat. The moon LED does
not stop blinking and I have to power off the computer.

[Bug 67534] Re: Thinkpad T60 doesn't suspend after upgrade to edgy

2006-10-23 Thread piquadrat
I have the same problem, although not exactly the same symptoms. The
'Moon' LED blinks, xorg shuts down and the background lamp goes off. But
then it doesn't suspend completly, the fan is still running and there is
periodical hard disk activity (very short, about every 5 seconds). When
closing and opening again the lid, the background lamp comes on again
and I see a blinking cursor. Hitting the 'Fn' key has no effect, there
is no way to get the laptop back to a usable state other than a hard
reset.

I have a T60 with a ATI x1400 and I have the fglrx drivers installed.
