Public bug reported: This happens when the target file system does not accept the file being copied because it has the same name as another file when treated case- insensitively.
On a drive that accepts case-sensitive names (eg ext3 but I also managed to get this happening on a FAT32 drive under Linux), try to move files such as atest aTest test to a case-insensitive target drive (eg I used a Windows XP FAT32 share). The move window simply disappears with no error when it gets to aTest1. It doesn't copy test to the target, and it doesn't remove atest from the source, even though it was successfully copied. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Copy/move aborts mid-stream with no error on case-insensitive targets https://launchpad.net/bugs/67690 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
