Can you reproduce this by importing an image and trying to save it? If
so, please attach the image to the bug report.

[Bug 677593] Re: Crashes when saving a new scan to drive

2010-12-02 Thread bastafidli
I have the same exact problem on Kubuntu 10.10. Just did first time
install of gscanpdf, then scanned 2 page document, tried to save it and
got the above error. The PDF is still created fine after I click on the
error. It seems I cannot update from your ppa at this time to the
version you have recommended.

Re: [Bug 677593] Re: Crashes when saving a new scan to drive

2010-12-01 Thread Charlie Houp
Sorry for taking so long to follow up on this.

I suspected the problem might have been either an update or another
application that was recently installed was clobbering the gscan2pdf
app. So I decided to backup everything and re-install Ubuntu 10.04-1,
which did clear up the problem.

Thanks for your feedback and assistance though.

There were some issues with race conditions in earlier versions, where
the scanned images were imported before they were fully written.

Please try 0.9.31 from the ppa
(https://launchpad.net/~jeffreyratcliffe/+archive/ppa)

Please see attached gscan2pdf-debug command line output. This includes
the first save effort which gives the error message reported and the
second save effort which requires a forced exit.

Thank you
