Hi Gabriele, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 685662 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. I can't reproduce this on any of the machines I have. Given the log messages, it's probably a kernel driver problem, not a libpcap problem. If you can identify which USB device is causing the problem, it would probably be a good idea to see if it works with other programs (try putting a thumb drive in and see if it works normally). In the mean time, I've opened a new task in 'linux' (the kernel) and marked the original libpcap task as invalid.
