[Bug 689655] Re: application > accessories > take screenshot (should be take a screenshot)

2011-12-03 Thread Nathan nolast
this seems like a personal preference and not a blatant mishap in
spelling or grammar.

take a screen shot is a descriptive sentence of what that menu item
does, i would say that menu items should not be sentences.

I think screen capture would be good description for getting a
screenshot

[Bug 689655] Re: application > accessories > take screenshot (should be take a screenshot)

2011-06-06 Thread kzmd
I'm happy to work on this bug, however I need to know what to change the
menu entry to. Is there a consensus on Screen Capture? Or does it
require more discussion?

2010-12-17 Thread Colin Watson
main-menu is not what you think it is - it's a component of the text-
mode installer.

This string is in the gnome-screenshot package, which is part of gnome-
utils.

Screen Capture sounds the best, as I think it should not contain the
word Camera, because it does not have anything to do with a camera, and
could cause confusion.

[Bug 689655] Re: application > accessories > take screenshot (should be take a screenshot)

2010-12-14 Thread Chris Wilson
I agree that avoiding naming it after an activity would be best. I also
think that avoiding the use of words like 'tool' and 'utility' is
desirable as these types of words aren't very user friendly. I think the
following would be good alternatives:

- Screen Capture
- Screenshot Camera
- Screen Camera

Or something along those lines.

2010-12-14 Thread Robert Roth
I think this issue deserves a bit of discussion. No other entry in the
menu describes the activity what it can do, so this one should avoid
that too. I think something like "Screenshot tool" would be better.
