[Bug 692818] Re: I loaded ubuntu 10.04 done the updates rebooted and I lost grub 1.98 how do I fix this problem ? I don't think this computer likes this version of grub , because it did the same way w
Cool cool Congrats :) By the way, when you get an email from launchpad it is better to follow the link into the particular thread here rather than just replying to the email. It is also worth knowing that this is a public forum so telling personal information is not usually a good idea. Luckily in your case you have only told us things that are fairly safe to tell random strangers :) Many congrats and regards from Tom :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692818 Title: I loaded ubuntu 10.04 done the updates rebooted and I lost grub 1.98 how do I fix this problem ? Hi :) Have you been able to sort the problem yet? Do you have an Ubuntu Cd? Does the machine boot-up into Windows, Ubuntu or anything else? Have you been able to boot-up from the Ubuntu Cd using the Try Ubuntu rather than the Install option? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD If you can boot into any Ubuntu (or any other linux) then please get to a command-line, in UBuntu that is Applications - Accessories - Terminal and try to give us the output from this command sudo fdisk -l where -l is a lower-case -L. Copypaste using keyboard short-cuts doesn't work on the command-line but mouse paste is always good :) Please let us know the answers to any of the above, don't worry if there are some things you can't answer. Just let us know what you can. Good luck and regards from Tom :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692818 Title: I loaded ubuntu 10.04 done the updates rebooted and I lost grub 1.98 how do I fix this problem ?
