Looks like this is no problem in Intrepid. A warning message will appear before sticky keys is first activated. Its the "slow keys" feature of KDE, also reported in Bug #41427. I always have Amarok to start up when loading the KDE session. I never experienced this bug with the new versions of Amarok. Should we close this one? Did either/both of you have amarok set to startup at boot? I can confirm this, saw this in 2 different PCs. Keyboard just stops working, I have no idea why, but deleting ~/.kde solves the problem.
