Michiel's screenshots have gone offline again, but I think I'm seeing a similar issue. If my laptop is on battery power, it skips filesystem checks, and prints an orange asterisk in the console when it does this (see CIMG1131.JPG). However, as with Michiel, it goes into powersave after a while, and clears all the white text from the console. However, it doesn't clear the orange asterisk (see CIMG1130.JPG). Oops; I no longer have the screenshots. However, my problem was slightly different. I've taken new photos of this bug while still using 7.04. See here a normal, everyday tty session: http://test.thingmajig.org/25-08-07_0006.jpg After a while of doing nothing (a "while" is about the time when one would dim the screen to save energy), the screen suddenly looks like this: http://test.thingmajig.org/25-08-07_0005.jpg Half the screen is suddenly missing. After another while, the screen goes into real sleep mode. I've taken new photos of this bug while still using 7.04. See here a normal, everyday tty session: http://test.thingmajig.org/25-08-07_0006.jpg After a while of doing nothing (a "while" is about the time when one would dim the screen to save energy), the screen suddenly looks like this: http://test.thingmajig.org/25-08-07_0005.jpg Half the screen is suddenly missing. After another while, the screen goes into real sleep mode. Michiel's screenshots have gone offline again, but I think I'm seeing a similar issue. If my laptop is on battery power, it skips filesystem checks, and prints an orange asterisk in the console when it does this (see CIMG1131.JPG). However, as with Michiel, it goes into powersave after a while, and clears all the white text from the console. However, it doesn't clear the orange asterisk (see CIMG1130.JPG).
