Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-mozilla

Bonjour,

I use Edgy.
With Dapper and Firefox 1.5, video-streaming with Mplayer was OK.

Now, with Edgy I MUST use Totem for streaming, because totem-mozilla
plugin is tied to ubuntu-desktop. And, Totem does not work for
streaming. I use now FF 2.0. I know, ubuntu-desktop is "only" a meta-
package, but in the medium term it is better to keep it running, if only
for update and upgrades.

I think the best would be to , somewhat, "untie" the totem-mozilla
plugin from ubuntu-desktop, and leave the user the choice of his
streaming software.

Please understand this is NOT a codecs-related problem, I just wish to
be able to get rid of an unwanted plugin in my preferred distro.

** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
