[Bug 71802] Re: apt-get build-dep fails

Fixed in Hardy with the 2.4 branch. ** Changed in: avidemux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Fix Released -- apt-get build-dep fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/71802 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71802] Re: apt-get build-dep fails
I'm seeing a variation of this bug on Gutsy/AMD64: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/build# apt-get build-dep avidemux Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Build-Depends dependency for avidemux cannot be satisfied because the package libsmjs-dev cannot be found I'm assuming libsmjs-dev has be superseded by libmozjs-dev, but installing libmozjs-dev doesn't resolve the build-dep for this package. However, dpkg-buildpackage -b -d in the source directory *does* build avidemux using libmozjs-dev. The only change required is to alter the line in debian/rules that refers to jsapi to: --build=$(DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE) --with-jsapi- include=/usr/include/mozjs --with-newfaad So, it seems like for packages like this, perhaps libmozjs-dev should symlink /usr/include/mozjs to /usr/include/smjs, and include a tag in the package to provide libsmjs-dev? I mean, or the debian/rules file in gutsy should be changed. ;) -- apt-get build-dep fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/71802 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes, I add multiverse to my deb-src and now I can confirm with the result: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/apt# apt-get -s build-dep avidemux Reading package lists... [Bug 71802] Re: apt-get build-dep fails
Sorry, but I would rather say it does need SpiderMonkey: http://www.avidemux.org/admWiki/index.php?title=Compiling_Avidemux#Mandatory_packages says: Mandatory packages * SpiderMonkey: Needed for scripting. * GTK+: Avidemux 2.1 and beyond need GTK+ 2.6 or newer. That includes also pkg-config, that might be a separate package. * libxml2: XML library, version 2. Used for filter descriptions and ~/.avidemux/config. * GCC: Source code compiler for Avidemux to be created with. -- apt-get build-dep fails https://launchpad.net/bugs/71802 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71802] Re: apt-get build-dep fails
Here is some more info from (Feisty): I have not checked to see if avidemux really needs libsmjs to compile. Avidemux _needs_ Spidermonkey. We need the development files for Spidermonkey somewhere!!! -- apt-get build-dep fails https://launchpad.net/bugs/71802 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71802] Re: apt-get build-dep fails
I don't think Avidemux needs spidermonkey. The binary version in the repository does not depend on this library, but depends on the updated moz version. I have tried to work it out further because I went back to Edgy. -- apt-get build-dep fails https://launchpad.net/bugs/71802 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
