[Bug 726353] Re: second monitor displays random flickering
Bayle Shanks, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. ** Attachment removed: "Screenshot.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/726353/+attachment/2027586/+files/Screenshot.png ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726353 Title: second monitor displays random flickering To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/726353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Bayle: is this an issue with both the VGA and HDMI port? If only the VGA port is affected, it could be bug 614238 - Seth Forshee recently added test kernels to that bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726353 Title: second monitor displays random flickering To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/726353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 726353] Re: second monitor displays random flickering
Same here, never had an issue with Ubuntu 10.10, I could attach my second monitor just fine whenever I wanted (booted or not, the screen would just adjust itself to the amount of monitors present when I plugged/unplugged it). Since 11.04 I can't have a nice image with two monitors on, whether I plug the screen before I boot of after... or whatever. I have a Windows partition on my computer and my second monitor works fine when I am booted on it, so Ubuntu's the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726353 Title: second monitor displays random flickering -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
