Re: [Bug 730437] Re: mythtv password is encrypted, in /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, but mysql server wants a clear password
OK thanks Thomas! A random password makes more sense. So I could have reset that password at the mysql end as an alternative. Thinking back, I may well have installed mysql first. In that case, perhaps the mythtv install should have requested the existing mysql root password. regards clary -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730437 Title: mythtv password is encrypted, in /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, but mysql server wants a clear password -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 730437] Re: mythtv password is encrypted, in /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, but mysql server wants a clear password
wmqY0wC4 isn't the encrypted password, it's the plaintext password that is generated upon install. I wonder why it wasn't set as the password though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730437 Title: mythtv password is encrypted, in /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, but mysql server wants a clear password -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
