This doesn't just affect the bottom panel. I only have one panel on the top edge, and windows just disappear under it instead of considering the lower panel edge as upper workspace edge (as with standard metacity). I'm running compiz upstream (0.3.5) and cannot reproduce this bug. Yes, all windows maximize slightly under the panel: tested gedit, epiphany, gcalc, etc I've attached a screenshot of the result of using the maximize vertical hotkey on gedit. the compiz version has appended ~git2006112!
