There is no connectivity issue, and oddly, the weather is correctly displayed. Yet this message box continues to periodically pop up. To get rid of the annoying error notification see post on Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1704685 Short version: comment out (or delete) line #240 in /usr/share/avant- window-navigator/applets/weather/weather.py (effectively disabling self.notification.show) and restart the applet.
