Any news about this?

Just a wild guess, if this is ipregator.se (as well as others), there
are known issues with VPN services that resolve to multiple IPs.

[Bug 748407] Re: Unable to connect to a VPN pptp in Natty

2011-04-14 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
I set my config to manual and can successfully connect to a test
SwissVPN account. AFAICT, this works.

Can you provide further information about your connection? Are you
certain all settings are properly set to agree with the server's
configuration? Setting incorrect settings for encryption, MPPE and
others may cause connections to appear established but not carry any
data. You should probably try without changing any of the settings in
Advanced.

Normally, we should be able to tell such a thing from the logs in
/var/log/syslog, but from what's attached the best I can offer is to say
that the server may not be handing IP addresses properly at this time,
judging from the timeout message.

[Bug 748407] Re: Unable to connect to a VPN pptp in Natty

2011-04-03 Thread HacKurx
There must be something wrong with my interface. This morning can not I
connect to the VPN. I restart the service:

hackurx@SRV-01:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
 * Running /etc/init.d/networking restart is deprecated because it may not
enable again some interfaces
 * Reconfiguring network interfaces...
Ignoring unknown interface eth0=eth0.
 [ OK ]
hackurx@SRV-01:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/network-manager restart
Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service network-manager restart

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the restart(8) utility, e.g. restart
network-manager
network-manager start/running, process 2192

2011-04-02 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
I can't confirm this, I can successfully connect to a SwissVPN account
from here.

HacKurx, could you please confirm whether this is an imported
connection, or roughly what your settings are for that VPN? Can you
confirm that you are able to connect to the same VPN from the command
line?
