Even if most people use "Applications" or "Files and Folders" less than Firefox the user should have a choice to override the default design. Still "Applications" or "Files and Folders" are more important than some applications in Launcher but in the end of the day you'll want all of them in Launcher and the least unfolding for daily tasks. The Bug description is incomplete. Moreover, the grey colored items/folders on the launcher are not used more often. You can also access those items/folder by holding the SUPER button (WINDOWS KEY) and pressing the specific key showed on each button of the launcher.
