[Bug 756882] Re: Unity mysteriously loses theme

2011-04-19 Thread Michael Kofler
I have the same problem when using natty (all updates installed as of
today) in Virtual Box 4.0.4 (Windows), using the classic desktop. gnome-
settings-daemon crashes about 30 sec. after login, no matter whether the
vbox guest additions are installed or not. (The following .xsession-
errors is with guest utils.)

.xsession-errors says:

/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Setting IM through im-switch for locale=de_AT.
Start IM through /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/all_ALL linked to
/etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/default.

If I try to manually restart gnome-settings-daemon, I get this error:

user$ gnome-settings-daemon

** (gnome-settings-daemon:1597): WARNING **: Failed to acquire
org.gnome.SettingsDaemon

** (gnome-settings-daemon:1597): WARNING **: Could not acquire name

---

I also had random problems with gnome-settings-daemon on real hardware
(with closed nvidia driver) in beta 1, but they seem to have dissapeared
now. However, I am using Unity on this machine, not the classic desktop.

could you add your .xsession-errors to the bug after getting the issue?
