[Bug 763390] Re: Hibernation problem in Acer Aspire one 532H After Installing Updates
Hello With my Aspire One D255E I have te same issue. However when I get back from hibernation I still see the right hand side of the screen, so only the majority on the left is scrambled. I also found that solution: go into suspend and go back. The screen gets back to normal. Switching screens with ctrl+alt+Fx (x - number 1-7) does not work either. Performed clean install on an acer aspire one. I just tried hibernation today and the bug affects me too. Hi I hope this helps, but after a bit of investigation, I found that my hibernation stopped working because of IPMI. For some reason, modprobe was stuck on the openipmi module, causing the system to hang on either shutdown or hibernation. @varun kumar, for me there are two ways to suspend: (1) Although the screen is garbled, the dialogue asking for your password is there - just type it and hit return. On my screen, the left hand 25% is clean, so I can find the power down options and suspend. (2) Alternatively, and much more simply, I can just close the screen/lid. Here's an interesting trick, that solved the problem for me, sort of: When the screen hangs after waking up from hibernate, go into _suspend_ and wake back up from suspend. That should give you back a normal screen.
