The same bug is happening to me also. When I start Cheese from the terminal I get this message at the end of the terminal output: ** Message: cheese-effects-manager.vala:84: Found Radioactive (radioactv) libv4l2: error turning on stream: Input/output error ** (cheese:15156): WARNING **: Error starting streaming on device '/dev/video0'. ** (cheese:15156): WARNING **: Could not negotiate format The funny thing though, is that after I start Cheese after my webcam has been used by a different application it magically starts working. For example, Cheese doesn't work -> start Komoso -> close Komoso -> start Cheese -| Cheese works.
