Binary package hint: nautilus

I am using an HP Pavilion Dv4. I can't find Nautilus even though the package 
has been downloaded and installed and it won't show up on my computer. However, 
I can find it using the terminal. I can't open it to exchange files.
Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop
latest package update.
I expected it to pop up kingston flash drive has been found what would you like 
to do.
I plugged in my flash drive and nothing happened.
