[Bug 774378] Re: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty
There have been a number of fixes in -wacom (and the wacom kernerl driver) for this type of hardware (ISDV4) since natty, would you mind please testing oneiric to confirm if is working out of the box now using a livecd? http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774378 Title: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/774378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 774378] Re: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty
None of our utouch work touches the wacom input module, so I have no idea what caused the change. ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Assignee: Chase Douglas (chasedouglas) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774378 Title: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/774378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 774378] Re: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty
@Chase, would the MT work in the server have affected the default setting for MT on -wacom in natty? I browsed through the set of changes between 0.10.8 and 0.10.11 but nothing popped out to me as obviously changing the default setting here. Unless Chase has a clue, I think doing a git bisect search would be the next step. Would one of you that has the hardware and can reproduce the issue mind doing it? ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: xf86-input-wacom (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Chase Douglas (chasedouglas) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774378 Title: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/774378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 774378] Re: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty
xsetwacom set "Serial Wacom Tablet touch" Gesture "on" fixed my issue with no gestures. Seems it's not defaulting to on from the install. Thanks gfb1 and Favux for the advice on a fix. [Bug 774378] Re: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty
Thanks for the help! This command turns on the touchscreen. Now I need to add it somewhere in the start up files. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774378 Title: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 774378] Re: Touch screen does not work after upgrade to natty
Also, if you have gestures (2FGT), try adding to the above xsetwacom set command the following: xsetwacom set "device name" Gesture "on" and see if that turns your gestures on. The xf86-input-wacom driver should be turning touch and gestures on by default if your ISDV4 tablet PC or USB tablet supports it.

I hate to be Captain Obvious; but did you try the command: xsetwacom set "Device Name" touch on btw, in my case the device name was as follows: xsetwacom set "Serial Wacom Tablet touch" touch on 11.04 seems to leave touch "off" as a default. other options can be set as necessary.
