[Bug 775078] Re: calendar in the notification area shows wrong time

2011-05-07 Thread Kito
** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: notify-osd
+ Binary package hint: indicator-datetime

After importing calendar files (.ICS) evolution handles them properly
and displays correct time and date. In Gnome's indicator area (time and
calendar) where appointments for the ongoing week are listed, wrong time
is displayed. Calendar entries done manually are correctly displayed.

  What I expected to happen:
Importing ICS-files will lead to a correct time display in the notification
area.

  What happened instead:
Every appointment is wrong by two hours, e.g. 0900 a.m. in Evolution will be
displayed as 1100 a.m. in the notification area.

[Bug 775078] Re: calendar in the notification area shows wrong time

2011-05-06 Thread Kito
@ Karl

I have checked the timezones of the calendar entries displayed incorrectly.
These entries have a blank timezone field.
After entering my timezone (Vienna) manually, logging out and in again the
correct time was shown on the indicator applet. So this seems to be the cause.

[Bug 775078] Re: calendar in the notification area shows wrong time

2011-05-06 Thread Kito
Ah, sorry, now I realize to have reported this bug in a wrong section
due to the fact I am not a native speaker and messed up with the
translation for "indicate" and "notify".

@Sebastien
I do not clearly know how to reproduce it, but I will tell you what I did:

first, I created a backup.tar.gz in Evolution on 10.10
after that I exported my calendar files to a backup.ics
after that I installed 11.04 on a clean HDD (no upgrade)
then I imported the backup.tar.gz
then I imported the backup.ics
checked the indicator applet - two hours difference

after that (due to several other bugs) I formatted the HDD again and
reinstalled 11.04
then I created a new user profile for Evolution
then I downloaded an .ics-file from the internet and saved it in my downloads
folder
(specifically from this address:
http://bach.wu-wien.ac.at/z/wu/vvz/ical?v=295289)
after that I imported it into Evolution
checked the indicator applet - two hours difference

Screenshot:
It is not possible to create a screenshot of the indicator applet with the
calendar unfolded.

[Bug 775078] Re: calendar in the notification area shows wrong time

2011-05-03 Thread Karl Lattimer
What might be happening is the timezone isn't correctly exported or
imported, can you check the individual calendar entries to see if they
have the wrong timezone in evolution?
