Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gtk2-engines
The theming service which used to be managed gnome-settings-daemon crashes, reverting to <standard/classic/gray/ugly/squared> GTK default theme, plus gnome-settings daemon is showed as running on System Monitor. This happen after seconds of login in user session and only when Ubuntu is virtualized with VMWare Fusion as Host. Bug happens indistinctly of using open-vm-tools or vmware-tools from VMWare and also on classic desktop, also it is independent if user chooses between VMWare easy install (installing vmware-tools automatically on first start) or classic install. Bug doesn't happen on live CD sessions or while installing. VMWare Fussion Version 3.1.2 (332101). I put it under gtk2-engines package as it is a theming bug, but I am almost sure that it is another package that I don't know.
