Re: [Bug 780669] Re: Screen corruption
Hi, The upgrade to the lastest ubuntu release did not went well (had to put back a backup of natty) so I can't say if the bug is still present or not. I'm currently planning to stay on Natty for the time being. --stephan On Tue, Nov 8, 2011 at 9:57 PM, Bryce Harrington 780...@bugs.launchpad.net wrote: Hey stephan-losa, You filed this bug report against natty, but I see it's still open and doesn't appear to have much activity recently. If it's solved in the new release and you think it's worth backporting the fix, please indicate that. Or if having the fix in the new release is good enough, feel free to close out the bug (or let us know and we'll close it.) If it's not solved, leave the bug report open. I can't promise we'll get to it (we get way more bugs filed than we can usually get to), but your testing and feedback can help out if and when we do. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/780669 Title: Screen corruption Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: xorg After upgrading to natty, the screen starts to show corruption (both in classic and classic no effects). [Bug 780669] Re: Screen corruption
This may be the same bug I'm having. Dell XPS M1330 laptop NVIDIA 8400M It happens randomly, usually after a day or two. It's never happened before upgrading to Natty, and I've used Kubuntu on this system since 8.04 Hardy. The first time it happened I was able to reboot, but the second time the system froze while logging out, to the point where I couldn't switch VTs. I had to SysRq+B to reboot, so the kernel wasn't frozen, but no other keys seemed to have any effect. ** Attachment added: Video of display corruption (sorry it's upside down...dumb iPhone) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/780669/+attachment/2134182/+files/IMG_0838.MOV -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/780669 Title: Screen corruption -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
