[Bug 781937] Re: Missing start menu entry

2013-08-04 Thread Sworddragon
Marking this as invalid then. If I'm needing gnome-terminal again I will
just manually edit the line.

[Bug 781937] Re: Missing start menu entry

2013-08-04 Thread Julien Lavergne
I'm not sure it's the role of LXDE devs to validate every applications.
If gnome-terminal authors or maintainers set OnlyShowIn=GNOME, I
understand it as "It's only work well under GNOME environment. If they
consider now that it can work on LXDE without problem, they should add
the LXDE in the list of the OnlyShowIn themselves. Lubuntu Devs are not
against adding it, but we didn't test gnome-terminal enough under LXDE
to validate its good behavior.

[Bug 781937] Re: Missing start menu entry

2013-08-03 Thread Jeremy Bicha
If you install alacarte, I believe you can use it to force Terminal to
show in your menus.

If the Lubuntu developers ask the Desktop Team to add LXDE to the
OnlyShowIn list, I'm sure we can. Otherwise, since LXDE offers its own
app also named Terminal, it makes the menus very confusing to someone
who has LXDE and Unity (or GNOME) installed.

[Bug 781937] Re: Missing start menu entry

2011-05-12 Thread Sworddragon
I figured out that there is an entry in /usr/share/applications but it
is hidden in the start menu with the line "OnlyShowIn=GNOME;". I'm using
LXDE and because of this the entry is not visible. I don't know why the
visibility is limited to GNOME because it can even be used in other
desktop environments (for example gnome-terminal is working for me much
better than lxterminal).
