[Bug 788488] Re: The cursor suddenly jumps to the right edge of the screen when finger go from the touchpad's main area to vertical scrolling area

2013-01-21 Thread Ahmed Shams
Hello nuclear90,
As the patch you submitted was still pending reveiw upstream, and the
corresponding package version still supported in Ubuntu 11.10, The Oneiric
Ocelot, I'd urge that you follow up with the upstream devs so they can make
benifit of your generous work.
In Ubuntu, I've copied upstream bug status and added bug watch.

Thanks in Advance.

When I touch my touchpad and move the finger to right at some point the
cursor instantly jumps to the right edge of the screen. When I move the
finger back and cross this line again, but now from right to left, the
cursor instantly jumps from the right to the left edge of the screen.
The vertical line, which I must cross to notice such a strange behaviour
is placed at about 1/5 of touchpad's width from the right, so it may be
border of scrolling area. I have synaptics touchpad. I noticed this bug
a week ago and suspect that it's a regression at version 1.1.3 of xf86
-input-synaptics.

I can confirm that it's regression from 1.1.2. Just installed 1.1.2 and
the bug doesn't occur any more.

Instantly isn't appropriate word to describe the problem, so I changed
