[Bug 796188] Re: Feature Request: Tool: Save screenshot of area to clipboard

2013-06-17 Thread bf
Thank you all for your feedback.

Sebastien Bacher: I just found out that selective screenshots can be
taken via the native screenshot application in Ubuntu, therefore marking
this bug as invalid is acceptable and I can see your reasons for this.

I filed this feature request about two years ago while using Ubuntu
11.04 and I am quite sure that in the last years this feature was not
implemented in the native screenshot application, which made me install
and use "shutter".

that feature is provided by the screenshot application, evince
developers rejected adding it to evince as well

not really a fix for the bug, rather a workaround

2011-12-04 Thread Roberto González Correa
bf, I agree with you. In Adobe Acrobat reader it is possible, and it would be
very useful to add support for this tool in Evince. I often need to get copies
of limited areas of the documents that that I'm working with, but the only way
to do it when you are using Evince is by obtaining a full screenshot, and
editing it with an image editor (Pinta or another). I'm not sure, but it seems
to be that Okular supports this feature.
In reply to Marcel, you are right. With Evince you can select an image, copy it
and then paste in the workspace of another application, but it isn't the same
that being able to select and copy any area that you need.

I hope that you can bring this tool to Evince.

[Bug 796188] Re: Feature Request: Tool: Save screenshot of area to clipboard

2011-06-14 Thread Marcel Stimberg
Just to mention two workarounds that should work with evince right now:
You can right click on a picture and save it as file and -- probably
more useful for your use case -- you should be able to drag and drop and
image into another application like OpenOffice.
