Some more possibly unrelated feedback: the noise I hear on the docking station's audio output? Happens on the built-in speakers with 3.0.0-0300rc6 now, too. Even when I have headphones plugged in. I should say perhaps, the laptop's in a docking station, and the docking station has its own audio port. Well, one thing I have noticed almost immediately is completely unrelated: my screensaver and some OpenGL-based games used to hang for a split second or so sporadically, that's gone. No audio hiccups either, but they weren't exactly predictable before. There's nothing in the log around the time of the freeze (I'd have been surprised anyway). To be more precise, the last log entry before the freeze was a good five minutes earlier. I wouldn't hold my breath for more information on this, unfortunately. I've attached kern.log.1 - ca. 10:09 on July 2nd is when I reboot after the first of the above mentioned freezes.
