[Bug 81371] Re: Java can't install in Feisty Herd2 i386

2007-02-20 Thread Michael Vogt
Thanks for your bugreport.

This is fixed in my local tree and the fix will be part of the next
upload.

It turned out that ia32-sun-java6 is a amd64 specific pacakge. But the
code that checks for this information had a bug. This bug is fixed now
and it will now be displayed as amd64 specfic and not-installable on
i386.

Cheers,
 Michael

[Bug 81371] Re: Java can't install in Feisty Herd2 i386

2007-02-13 Thread Michael Vogt
Thanks for your bugreport.

is this still a problem for you? I just tested it and I was able to
install all java packages with the exception of the browser plugin on
amd64 (inclusing Sun Java 6 Web Start (32bit)).

If you still have the problem, please include the output of:
$ sudo apt-get install -s ia32-sun-java6-bin

Thanks,
 Michael

[Bug 81371] Re: Java can't install in Feisty Herd2 i386

2007-02-13 Thread JPSanchez
I upgraded to Herd3 i386.
Today I installed Sun Java 6 Web start.
I'm still unable in this version (Herd 3) to install Sun Java 6 Web Start (32
bit).
I tried to get an output as you requested, and got the following information:

Spanish:
Leyendo lista de paquetes... Hecho
Creando árbol de dependencias
Reading state information... Hecho
El paquete ia32-sun-java6-bin no está disponible, pero algún otro paquete hace
referencia
a él.

English (my translation):
Reading list of packages ... Done
Creatien dependency tree
Reading state information ... Done
The ia32-sun-java6-bin package is not availabe, but some other package makes
reference to it. This means that the package is absent, obsolete or only
available from some other source.
Nevertheless, the following packages replace it:
   sun-java6-jre
E: the ia32-sun-java6 package doesn't have a candidate for it's installation.
