[Bug 818194] Re: Suspend and Hibernate Fails Randomly with Thinkpad X220 i5 prcoessor
I recently received an x220 (4286CTO) with i5-2520M and I don't seem to have this problem. I have bios version 1.20 and the kernel below. Linux 2.6.38-10-generic #46-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 28 15:07:17 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I did a fresh install of 11.04 and immediately updated. The only non- standard thing I've done is disable wireless N via modprobe.d config because it's problematic with the wifi card I have (Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000 [8086:0084]) Let me know if there is other information I can provide. I know how incredibly annoying suspend/resume bugs are. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/818194 Title: Suspend and Hibernate Fails Randomly with Thinkpad X220 i5 prcoessor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/818194/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 818194] Re: Suspend and Hibernate Fails Randomly with Thinkpad X220 i5 prcoessor
It happens on the kernel that my ubuntu installed with originally, too. I just booted into that kernel right now. I'll run the apport command and collect that data, too. ** Description changed: I have a recently purchased Thinkpad X220 with an i5 processor, and Intel integrated graphics running Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit with no proprietary drivers. However, my system has trouble suspending and hibernating. I'm fine with hibernating not working, but the suspend issue is very frustrating, as I move a lot throughout the day. I've noticed that suspend usually works the first time after booting, but subsequent times usually doesn't work. However, I still haven't been able to find a definite pattern to the failures. When suspend doesn't work, the screen goes blank and the moon LED on the cover of the computer blinks inadvertently. Usually the fans are still on. Once suspend fails, the computer is gone, and needs a hard reboot. It doesn't respond to Ctrl+Alt+Backspace or Ctrl+Alt+F1. I tried updating the BIOS to the latest release from Lenovo (1.19), and that didn't work. I also upgraded the kernel to 2.6.39-02063903-generic #201107091121, but that didn't work either.
