Public bug reported: This is more of an abstract request, and may not end up making sense in the end. I just wanted to get my thoughts written down.
For some config files, it seems to make sense to me to split them up into logical sections, For instance, with the Cloud Foundry package we did, I attempted to split up their conf files (which are not stored in /etc, nor marked as conffiles for that matter) into logical sections. A better example might be the /etc/gnome/defaults.list file. It is a list of mimetypes and the default application to be used when opening them. There have been a few occasions with DVD player companies, where they want to change the default handler for dvd/vcd/mpeg2, etc... The default case of dotdee would work here, but given the size of the file, it might be nice if dotdee could split it into smaller files, i.e. 50-multimedia, 50-text, etc... ** Affects: dotdee (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821112 Title: dotdee feature request To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dotdee/+bug/821112/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
