[Bug 827637] Re: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot
I have the same problem on a new Lenovo Thinkpad X121E. Touchpad buttons and red nub are disabled randomly on boot and I have either to restart (Linux kernel 3.4 with Gnome 3) or use rmmod psmouse followed by modprobe psmouse proto=bare -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/827637 Title: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/827637/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 827637] Re: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot
Updated the BIOS on the X220 and I'm still seeing issues, touchpoint does not work and the trackpad buttons do not work as well. Adding proto=bare clears up these issues. [Bug 827637] Re: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot
FWIW, I don't have any problem with my touchpad on my x220 running Oneiric. Button behavior and other touchpad behavior seems fine running the Oneiric release iso, and after updates (to 3.0.0-14.23 kernel). [Bug 827637] Re: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot
Hi Marc, Would you try the latest bios? We have tried to reproduce this on an X201 that we have and we haven't been able to. BIOS is the only delta between the machines we've found so far. [Bug 827637] Re: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot
Hi, i have similar problems with the Lenovo ThinkPad E320. After I installed Ubuntu 11.10. The TouchPad works not as expected. Both, the left and the right, buttons are recognized only as one single button. When I press a button and move over the touchpad a menu opens. The trackpoint works fine. -sedesc -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/827637 Title: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/827637/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 827637] Re: [Thinkpad X120e/x220] Touchpad disabled on boot
Marc -- Can you test this with Oneiric + updates? There was an odd issue on the x220 prior to Oneiric being released where the touchpad would be sluggish (borderline unresponsive) when lightdm was firing up ... it was found that a mystery hdmi port (likely related to the dock) was being probed endlessly.
