I can also confirm this behaviour on the ASUS EB1501P (ION2, atom D525) Plymouth fails at boot with plymouthd: ./plugin.c:540: map_to_device: Assertion `head-size 0' failed. I can start X by dropping to a VT and running sudo startx If I can provide anything that will help, please let me know. Hi. I have been testing 20110901 Beta 1 oneiric-desktop-i386.iso on Asus eee pc 1005P. (Atom N450) I am not sure i have the same problem, i cannot locate the mentioned logs. -please advice. When i boot live image from USB stick it gets stuck on the Welcome screen which is blank. Nothing shows in the window. If i left shift boot and choose try ubuntu is boots into desktop. I've been able to reproduce only once over 5 tries and only on 1 system.
