That package that you have tried to install isn't from the ubuntu
repositories, so we can't support it.

Please, try to install the vmware from the repositories, because it is
there.

Thanks for your answer. In the repositories, I see the vmware player,
but not the vmware server. Anyway, I solved the problem.

For the archive, on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2106156,
lamego says that installing inetd or xinetd solves it. Indeed it does.

No problem. I'm here to help you :)

You have vmware-server in Feisty, so once Feisty is stable (April), if
you upgrade your system to it, you will be able to install it from the
official repositories.
