[Bug 839238] Re: [Dell Vostro 1450] System halted when unit is idle for a while.
** Description changed: SRU Justification: Using an ALPS touchpad in the quirk list makes unloading psmouse.ko hang the system. [Bug 839238] Re: [Dell Vostro 1450] System halted when unit is idle for a while.
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel for Natty in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed- natty' to 'verification-done-natty'. If verification is not done by one week from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Anthony, I finally get Natty installed on the system, but I can't get the kernel log now, the unit can't boot to shell, the screen just turned to blank after grub. I will try more time to see if it can boot to shell. ** Description changed: Natty installation will cause this problem, if the installation is finished, then it will still happen during the system operation.
