This problems seems to be realted to the oneiric kernel. From natty to oneiric the kernel versions have changed from 2.6 to 3.0 and apparently in the new kernel issues were found with this script. This script has been disabled by default now. Marking this bug as fix released. If you believe this bug still persists, please re-open the bug report.
